Hi guys! It’s been a while! We spent a long weekend snowboarding and skiing in Finland so I haven’t had any time for Internet. I have a lot of pictures to show you from our trip but I’ll start with something entirely different – on our way back home we stopped by Ikea (how could we not, it’s my favorite place on earth) to get some stuff for our little nest. Here’s what we got for the little one’s room – some more storage, toys and stuff we needed to put up the artwork I had Kadi make for the little lady’s birthday. Never mind the hole in the wall behind the radiator – we haven’t had time to get someone to fix the walls behind the new radiators (not to mention the damage the builders did punching holes in our walls and splashing paint and silicone all over the place, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr…).
A new toy “chest” to match the color scheme in the room and better display the toys inside. It fits way more, too, and the living room can get its ottoman back! The puppet owl is new, too – ladybug gets all giggly and shy when I put on a show and pretend the owl is kissing her. Hilarious!
Really cool and stimulating toy, I’m very pleased we finally bought it!
Frames and a shelf for the artwork – how beautiful is it? I’ve admired it all day and I now want to spend every spare moment in the kid’s room. That’s how happy I am with the turnout. I’m so pleased we’ve given our kid the coolest playroom in the world!
A fun and smart “suitcase” to store all the books, puzzles, boardgames and DVD’s and CD’s the little one owns but is too small to play with just yet. I hate that her windowpane was covered in stuff and I think it looks really nice and neat now!

New nail design: Pastel hearts
Pastels-pastels-pastels… is it Spring soon? I couldn’t wait any longer so I went for a light and colorful look with little see-through hearts and tiny white pearls. My paws look absolutely adorable and who do I have to thank? Ingrid, of course!
House full of amazing people: H’s birthday party
Probably the cutest couple in the world!
H’s hand reaching for the delicious food
From the top: Onion rings, oven baked and blue cheese filled mushrooms, ham rolls, filled eggs topped with caviar, miniature pulled pork sandwiches, chicken wings (marinated and oven-baked), pasta salad, vegetables and dip.
I wouldn’t have survived the day without Ingrid’s help – the builders finished replacing our radiators (hence the torn wallpaper in the pictures) the night before (we spent the night at H’s mom’s) and I didn’t get home from the flea market until 4 p.m. You can imagine how messy our home was. The guests arrived at 7 p.m. and we had the whole place tidied up and all the food done thanks to this amazing lady (and uncle K, too) in the picture above!
I love how much life and fun there is in these pictures. Amazing night spent in best possible company!
Saturday night was the first time I met her and it will definitely not be the last. We hit it off right away 🙂 Our pal has one hell of a girlfriend!
Why so serious?
Emotion!
I wear your granddad’s clothes, I look incredible
I thrifted some really cool items a week ago and completely forgot to show you. All of this plus two more items (a black short sleeved wide collar knit and a nude maxi-length cardigan) I forgot to take pictures of cost me 3.50€ – guess how excited I was (and still am)? I love second hand treasures!
Cool (and really soft) white sweater from Gina Tricot. Both looks and feels great, I love that it’s a little longer in the back. I’ll wear this with the sleeves rolled up and match it with my bleached jeans, JC Lita’s and my boyfriend’s watch!
The coolest knit top I’ve ever laid eyes on – from Route 66. Going to wear it with a great tan, white jeans, chunky golden jewelry, nude heels and pilot sunglasses this summer!
Without a doubt the coolest piece of clothing I’ve managed to get my paws on in a while – thrifted or not. It’s short cut and really soft, the oversize fit is really cool and how fashionable is the pattern? I’m so happy with it. Worn best with ankle length black jeans, classic white Converse shoes, a leather jacket, a tube scarf and lips painted burgundy red!
Outfit of the day: Bordeaux Leather
Me and Ingrid met up today to go shopping and renew her wardrobe a little. She asked me to play her stylist (because she feels she isn’t great at matching outfits and getting stuff all by herself) so I ran through the stores picking out items I liked and thought would look great on her. That must be the best possible way of shopping – getting to pick out all this gorgeous clothing and not having to spend a single penny. We got her three pairs of jeans, a sweater, a couple of tops, a scarf and a really hot dress. Would you like me to show you what I picked out for her?
Later we felt like wine and great food so we took our little rugrats and had dinner at an American restaurant. We decided to feast on tons and tons of unnecessary carbs, but boy was it tasty! We always have a lot of fun and today was no exception – every minute spent with Ingrid is quality time. I have no problem helping her shop and watching the kids while she tries it all on and she doesn’t mind running after my little lightning bolt of a daughter if I’m too tired of chasing her through the restaurant in heels. We just go great together and I love her to pieces!
But, without further ado – today’s outfit!
ZARA hooded woolen coat
AMISU faux leather pants (they were on sale for 10€)
AMISU lace corset top
MANGO sheer blouse
JUST CAVALLI silver buckle belt
NELLY studded ankle boots
You know exactly why you fell in love with him when…
… he comes to pick you up at a friend’s house and spontaneously brings both you and your friend tulips because he’s not sure if your friend will get any flowers for Valentine’s day (because my friend’s hubby is abroad for work). I’m like:
New in: Coolest dress in the whole wide world
New Yorker, 17€
I just couldn’t resist grabbing it and trying it on when we went jeans-shopping for H the other day. It fit like a freaking glove and that alone would be reason enough to get a dress – most bodycon dresses I’ve tried on never fit because of my proportions. My top half is a size M/L and since I’ve barely got any… junk in the trunk, my bottom is a size S. This dress is size S and fits purrrrrrrfectly, not to mention the design (colorful kaleidoscope pattern and the low-cut back) is to die for!
What’s for dinner? Orange-ginger chicken with potato wedges!
When I have no dinner insipration what so ever and I don’t feel like spending too much time in the kitchen, this is my go-to recipe. There aren’t a lot of ingredients and this meal pretty much cooks itself. You can use any spices or herbs you like to season the sauce with or you can serve with rice or pasta in stead – the possibilities are endless.
To cook this for three people you need:
♥ Three chicken fillets
♥ 2-3 gloves of garlic
♥ 1 tablespoon of cognac (optional)
♥ Juice of two oranges (also add a teaspoonful of orange zest for more flavor)
♥ 2 tablespoons of ground ginger (freshly grated ginger is great, too, just add less)
♥ 4 dl of heavy cream
♥ Soy sauce
♥ Potatoes
♥ Paprika
♥ Salt & pepper for seasoning
♥ Olive oil for frying and baking
Start by preparing the potatoes (they take the longest to cook). Preheat the oven to 200°C, wash and scrub the potatoes (cut out any spots of dirt) and cut them into wedges. Season with salt and pepper, cover the potatoes in olive oil, toss them around a couple of times (to make sure they’re seasoned properly) and finish them off by sprinkling paprika all over them. This will give the wedges a nice bittersweet flavor and a beautiful golden crust. Throw them in the preheated oven and start cooking the chicken.
Pat the fillets dry with a paper towel (very important), heat some olive oil in a large saucepan and sear the chicken on both sides until golden brown (also season generously with salt, pepper and ginger while doing so). When the fillets are seared, add chopped garlic, toss it around a couple of times and then add the (cognac first if you’re using it; if so, make sure you let the alcohol evaporate before adding anything else – you can tell the alcohol has left the pan when you can take a whiff of what’s in your pan without becoming intoxicated) freshly pressed orange juice. Turn the chicken around, allow it to cook in the orange juice for a few seconds, then add the cream. Taste the sauce: does it have a good balance of flavors? Add soy sauce for more depth of flavor and saltiness, a pinch of sugar if it’s too acidic and more ginger if you can’t taste it in the sauce. Trust your instincts, this is the fun part! You can even add curry, if you like!
Let simmer on low to medium heat until the sauce thickens and the potatoes are done. Serve with a fresh salad if you like and enjoy – you will absolutely love it! H told me all night what an incredible woman I am for having served him this meal. Don’t tell him how easy it was!

BLOG SALE: One woman’s trash is another woman’s treasure!
Edit: I forgot to write a prelude, lol. I’m selling all this stuff to have an excuse to buy more. Me and two girlfriends of mine will be at a flea market on Saturday and there’s so much more I plan to sell, but I thought I’d put up a little sneak peak here. Baby is asleep where the clothes are and I forgot to check what size each piece was, but they’re all size M or L 🙂
