The goats-are-awesome-dance is very popular with kids these days!
We’ve taken the little ladybug to the zoo numerous times, but this was the first time she got to pat and feed the animals at the petting zoo. There were chicks, guinea pigs, bunnies, goats and other animals there for her to pet and study with sincere admiration and excitement. She especially loved the goats, as you can see – she was so thrilled she wouldn’t stop “talking” about all the way home and then until it was bedtime. It was a great day and we’re definitely going again before summer is through. 🙂

I only showed you outfit photos of our little afternoon in Kõpu, but we took quite a few more. I thought I’d share a couple of them with you, too. 🙂
The bottom right picture explains Jellybean’s I-stuffed-my-face-with-too-much-cake-look (hilarious, isn’t it?) in the other two – it is, without a doubt, one of the world’s most delicious cakes. It’s a baked apple-yoghurt cake that’s fluffy and light as a cloud, not too sweet and very flavorful. I will try to make it and perfect the recipe, then hand it on to you guys!
Curd and berries, a classic!
Mmmm… local delicacies…
The sandbox is a new favorite, she can keep herself busy for a long-long time before she remembers she had parents at all…
Jellybean is a lucky little girl – her daddy, auntie and mommy all
agreed demanded to take her down the slide. I love how we’ve captured the moment on these photos. I would like to draw extra attention to the first one, I think it’s hysterically funny!

Nothing beats a delicious piece of juicy, well cooked beef. Put it in a bun with some great dressing, marinated onions, tomato and lettuce and you’ve got yourself the tastiest burger you’ve ever had to eat. Without any further introductions, here’s how we cook our burgers:READ MORE

Every single time we come to Hiiumaa, we go to Kõpu for delicious cake, great coffee and cute wooden refrigerator magnets. The little handicraft shop also sells jewelry and I couldn’t get my eyes off these pretty little neon things – the color is sensational! They became mine for 7€ and since I could really use a pair of silvery earrings, I’m more than pleased with my little impulse purchase 🙂 What do you think, are they cute or what?
I realize that becoming a parent is bound to turn your world upside down, but I didn’t know how scary and awful it could sometimes be until the day before yesterday.
It turns out our little Jellybean is prone to having febrile seizures (which are generally harmless but look just as nasty as they sound). What that means is that when her body temperature rises to a high fever (which in her case is only 39°C), her little body becomes stiff, her limbs start twitching, her eyes are at the back of her head and her little lips turn blue because she can’t breathe properly.
It happened at around 6 a.m. in the morning, she was ill but in a good mood (the happy little monkey baby she always is), I was changing her diaper and then it happened. I think I lost 15 years of my life in those 30 seconds. I had no idea what was happening, I didn’t know whether or not it would pass or if she would be going without oxygen until she died. Now that I know that it’s just a tiny harmless neurological reaction that causes the fit, I realize that all of the above sounds overly dramatic, but I still feel like I’ve been to hell and back.
Right after she had the fit, she fell into a deep state of relaxation and fell asleep. The ladybug, of course, decided to joke and laugh her way through all the horror, which was a huge consolation for her mommy while waiting for the ambulance. She really is a real trooper and a ray of sunshine.
Apparently, very few children have this “condition” and grow out of it by the age of 5 (comforting, huh?). When the fit strikes, all you can do is lower the body temperature as soon as possible. She started having a second seizure the following afternoon (her palm and arm started twitching), but we cooled her down quickly and dodged that bullet…
So, dear mommies, I’m here to tell you something that won’t help you a bit – don’t panic. It will pass really soon, even though every second during the fit feels like an eternity to you. It won’t cause your little one any permanent damage and she won’t remember a thing. If you want to ask me anything about it, go ahead. I’ve made my peace with it and decided that I’ll try my best not to allow it to scare me any more than it already has! 🙂
Posting this as an outfit is probably pointless since I’m almost always too lazy to gussy up and accessorize in the summer – I’m fine as long as I’m at least clothed. Comfy and simple does it! I did put on the effort of doing my make-up for you guys. Eye liner, red lipstick and all that jazz! By the way, feel free to tell me how fabulous my new Chloé sunglasses are! 😉
