The last time we saw uncle Kimmo was in the summer when he came by for a brief barbecue party and brought ladybug the singing Fisher-Price dog. Me and Kimmo go way back and he has been one of my best friends for years, which makes every time he visits a very special occasion. This time he brought along his new (well, new to me) girlfriend for me to meet and I very much approved. The last time he introduced me to a girlfriend of his, I met Maarja, who was with us this time, too. I think we all thought it’d be a little bit awkward, but we had a great time and a lot of fun. We played board games, enjoyed wine (beer for the boys), ate pizza and cake, the baby traveled from lap to lap and enjoyed every single minute. They slept over so we got to spend two days together, have pancakes & coffee in the morning and play more board games. The second day was a bad one for the baby because (as we found out later) she was busy growing a tooth and it made her cranky, but when uncle K and auntie M cuddled her and made her laugh, she couldn’t resist and was the happy monkey baby she always is. Uncle K took the ferry back to Sweden and auntie M went back to work in Tartu. It was such a thrill having them over and our home felt a lot emptier once they had left. I really hope we’ll see them again very soon, but until then – some pictures!
Everyone is obviously awfully busy eating pizza, there wasn’t even enough time to take a decent photo!
What an adorable little family! They threatened to kidnap my child, but I think they should consider having one of their own…
“Enjoy the attention? Me? Naaaaah!”
M started by saying she hated board games and that there was no chance she’d be taking part. Guess who was the biggest enthusiast of us all after a couple of rounds?
Have you guys ever played Rummy? It’s a great game – looks difficult at first but once you get into it, it’s very easy, logical and most of all – it’s really fun and addictive!
M helped me a lot in the kitchen. Pooch wishes she could do some ‘helping’ of her own…
Wieners in puff pastry… so easy to make and oh-so-yummie!
Ladybug spent most of the time in uncle K’s lap – they played, joked around and the kid even felt comfortable enough to almost fall asleep. Those two are great friends and nothing could make me happier.
Auntie Maarja was a huge hit too – those two tickled each other and laughed so loud I’m sure the neighbors thought of complaining…
… you can see by the little elevated-shoulder-pose how comfortable and flirty the little rugrat was.
Coffee and crêpes with blueberries, Nutella and sliced peaches for breakfast. Can you spell ‘delicious’?
“Going to see what happens if I put my finger in uncle’s mouth…”
“Uh-oh! I’m stuck!”
