I’m probably going to be lynched by an angry mob of local bloggers who are all such faaaaaabulous photographers, but since I’ve only got photos taken with my camera phone and nothing but that very phone to blog on, I’m just going to bloody blog if I feel like it! I wanted to show you some snapshots of our Sunday lunch at Diip. “Our” is a bit of an exaggeration because I didn’t really eat (this heat isn’t exactly helping my appetite), but kiddo and H did and loved it.
Ladybug had fish soup – the broth was beautifully flavorful (with hints of lemongrass and cilantro if I’m not mistaken) and the fish was very well cooked – I could tell by how fast it disappeared into kiddo’s tummy.
H’s lamb patty, too, was well cooked and served with yummie sides. The play corner was a huge hit and all parents know how important good toys are when eating out, am I right?
And the interior, of course, was lovely. For some reason, most Estonian establishments like to start off by spending their whole budget on a fancy, pretentious interior, while the food quality remains simply ridiculous (Noa in Viimsi comes to mind, but there are many more). Diip, much like my favorite Lyon, has it all figured out. The ambiance is pleasant, tasteful and well thought through. When the food comes out and you have your first mouthful, you know that you’re surrounded by lots of love, passion and know-how. I take my hat off to those kinds of qualities!
