Times are tough – our little angel caught a nasty cold from a little baby friend of hers (we didn’t know he had it before we went over) and it both sucks and blows, to be honest . She can’t breathe through her bright red little nose so she can’t get a good night’s sleep because the snotty nose won’t let her (she choked on it so badly last night, it made her vomit). So we’re both up all through the night.
I rinse her nose with Humer (it’s a nasal wash, saline in a very handy bottle) and then use an aspirator to suck out as much as I can. I make her wear tiny woolen socks with a glove of garlic or a cotton pad with a few drops of tea tree oil hidden inside. I pour a spoonful of menthol-based bath oil (made to relieve children’s colds, although it’s probably a little too rough for baby’s skin) in the bath and then fill it with hot water to fill our bathroom with minty steam to help clear her nose and throat… Come on, mommies, I need more tips. How do I help my baby girl get through this?
