The weather is absolutely magnificent – the contrast of yellow leaves on a white blanket of snow is really beautiful. So we took our two little girls (the little lady and our dog Lorelei), picked up some freshly baked goodies and lattes from a local cafe and went for a walk. Should definitely have worn gloves, it’s really getting cold outside!
Perfect day for a long walk! It’s really hard to tell what season it is, feels and smells exactly like spring. We still have a long, cold winter ahead of us, considering it’s still October and we’ve already got Winter Wonderland going on here. What do we need to survive it? Warm mittens, lots of candles, mulled wine and the holidays. It’s so obvious I’m a winter-child, the snowy weather gives me butterflies and a really familiar feeling of comfort and coziness.
This is going to be our little lady’s first Christmas and I’m not sure if it’s just me or if everyone else who’s just had a kid is equally stoked about all the ‘firsts’ that are up ahead. First snow (technically she’s already seen it, but I’m pretty sure she didn’t know what to make of it), her first little sledge, Christmas presents and Santa (who we probably will not be traumatizing her with this year, but just the thought gets me all excited), first birthday, snowmen and -angels… Being a parent is awesome, it’s like my second go at being a kid! Errr… is it just me?
