The Ladybug got this ball pen for her first Christmas and it stood in her room until her play kitchen arrived a year later and I decided she couldn’t have both all at once. The girl also has other toys, Legos, books, finger painting… when will she have time to play with and equally appreciate all the stuff she has in that little room of hers? So I put all the little colorful balls in a big box and folded the tent to fit it behind her wardrobe. A couple of days back she was bored out of her mind, cranky and nagging to see cartoons. What better occasion for a visit from her long lost friend, the ball pen? SHE WAS HAPPIER THAN EVER.
TA OLI SELLE ÜLE ÜLIÕNNELIK!I do it with most of her toys – I have two large cardboard boxes on top of her wardrobe and they contain toys that her sneaky mum has hidden from her when I see that she no longer has interest in them. I do the old switcheroo every now and then and swap the toys she’s tired of for stuff she hasn’t seen in a while. The important part is to be fast and subtle, because if she sees me putting stuff away, she lets out a loud squeal of panic because what I’m trying to put away always suddenly turns out to be her favorite. I firmly believe that spoiling a child with a ton of toys that just lie around the house to be neglected and stepped on is one of the biggest mistakes a parent can make. 🙂
Amg, what a great idea! I’ve been scratching my head about the ton of toys too, and ended up moving a HUGE box of them in the attic. There are still too many left, and it’s a pain to keep them organized; I refuse to pile them all in a box, without any sorting criteria, because that would make it harder for him to find and enjoy the toys he likes. I never thought about rotating them, though. It is so simple that I feel dumb for not thinking of it. 😀 So, thanks for the enlightenment! 🙂
i should totes do a post on how i store all of ladybug’s stuff! and glad i could help 🙂
Kust need imeilusad karbid pärit on?
Ma olen sinuga sama meelt ning samuti on pooled mänguasjad kappi ära pandud, mille siis aeg-ajalt taas välja vahetan.
karbid on ikeast! väiksemas mõõdus triibulised on ka. panen sulle siia lingi! 🙂
